PayNorthwest at the 36th Annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes

On May 20th, PayNorthwest employees participated in Nordstrom’s Beat the Bridge 8k run for Type 1 Diabetes research. This event, which attracts thousands of runners, is called Beat the Bridge because the course crosses over Seattle’s University Bridge. Participants race against the clock, hoping to cross the bridge before it is raised (temporarily), assuring bragging rights for those who are fleet of foot.

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a chronic, life-threatening autoimmune disease that is currently unpreventable. Finding ways to prevent this disease is central to saving lives and reducing healthcare costs. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure. This disease affects the families and friends of our employees, and we are proud to stand beside members of our community to fund research for a Type 1 diabetes cure.
